- Payment information: Payment transactions are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or full payment details. We retain only your Stripe customer ID to manage your subscription and billing history.
- Content you create: This includes series, chapters, characters, story plans, images, and any other content you produce or upload through the platform.
- Usage data: We automatically collect information about how you interact with the service, including pages visited, features used, generation history, and other diagnostic data.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Toonforge platform and all associated services.
- To process payments, manage your credit balance (Sparks), and administer your subscription.
- To generate AI content on your behalf by sending your text prompts, character descriptions, and story context to third-party AI providers.
- To analyze usage patterns, diagnose technical issues, and improve the quality and reliability of the service.
- To communicate with you regarding your account, service updates, policy changes, and responses to your inquiries.
AI Content Generation
Toonforge uses third-party AI providers to power its content generation features. When you use these features, your prompts, character descriptions, and relevant story context are transmitted to external services for processing.
- Text generation: Your text prompts and story context are processed by language model providers, currently routed through OpenRouter. OpenRouter may relay your requests to various underlying model providers based on the configuration.
- Image generation: Your image prompts and character descriptions are processed by Google Gemini for AI image generation.
- These third-party providers process your data in accordance with their own privacy policies and terms of service. We encourage you to review their respective policies.
- We do not use your content, prompts, or creative work to train, fine-tune, or otherwise improve AI models. Your creative content remains yours.
Third-Party Services
We rely on the following third-party services to operate Toonforge. Each service may collect and process data as described in their own privacy policies:
- Clerk: Provides authentication and user management, including secure sign-in, sign-up, and session handling.
- Stripe: Handles all payment processing, subscription management, and billing. Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant.
- Convex: Serves as our database and backend infrastructure, storing your account data, content, and application state.
- Google Gemini: Powers AI image generation features within the platform.
- OpenRouter: Routes AI text generation requests to language model providers.
- Cloudflare R2: Stores generated images and related media and serves them for display in the app.
Data Storage and Security
We take the security of your data seriously and implement industry-standard measures to protect it. All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. Our backend infrastructure employs access controls and security best practices to safeguard stored data.
However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
Data Retention
- Account data: Your account information is retained for as long as your account remains active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, subject to legal obligations.
- Content: Series, chapters, characters, images, and other creative content you produce are retained until you choose to delete them or until your account is deleted.
- Payment records:Transaction and billing records are retained as required by applicable law and Stripe's data retention policies, even after account deletion.

- Access the personal data we hold about you and request a copy of that data.
- Request deletion of your account and associated personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Export your content, including series, chapters, and other creative works you have produced.

Cookies

Toonforge is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
